Wholesale Microsoft Teams calling for MSPs and IT providers
A new revenue line in the Microsoft stack your customers already run

Want To Offer Microsoft Teams Calling To Your Customers?
Your customers are already paying for Microsoft 365. Most of them are still paying someone else for phones.
Lightwire supplies the calling that turns Microsoft Teams into their phone system, at wholesale rates, across New Zealand and Australia.
You sell it, you bill it, you support it, and you keep the margin. There is no new PBX platform for your engineers to learn, because it is the Microsoft environment you already manage.
Why sell Teams calling rather than another phone system?
- Nothing new to learn: Calling lives inside Microsoft Teams, in the admin centre your team is already in every day. No third-party PBX, no separate console, no certification course.
- It sells into the base you already have: Every customer on Microsoft 365 with Teams is a candidate. You are not prospecting cold; you are adding a line to an existing bill.
- No Microsoft accreditation to chase: You do not need to become a Microsoft-certified operator to offer this. Our group company Telesmart holds that certification, and you sell on top of it.
- No infrastructure to build: No session border controller to buy, no carrier interconnects to negotiate, no numbering to source. That is ours.
- Recurring, sticky revenue: A phone system embedded in the customer's own Microsoft tenancy is not a service they churn casually.
- Billable work on top, if you want it: Direct Routing is configured in the customer's own Microsoft environment, which is work your team is already equipped to do and can charge for. Operator Connect needs none of it. Sell whichever suits the deal.

What do you get, and what do we keep out of?
- Your customer, your contract, your price: You set the retail rate and you invoice. We invoice you at wholesale.
- Your portal, on your domain: Manage your customers' Operator Connect services through a portal on your own unique domain, carrying your logo. The platform and Telesmart are named inside it — see "Can Operator Connect be white-labelled?" below for exactly what your customer and your team will see.
- Your support relationship: You are tier 1. We are behind you, not in front of you, and we never contact your customer.
- We do not sell to your customers. No approach, no cross-sell, no contact.
- Two countries, one wholesale relationship. New Zealand and Australia from one agreement, rather than sourcing calling separately in each market.

Yes. Microsoft certifies the operator that connects the calling, and in our group that is Telesmart. Partners sell Teams calling on top of that certification without seeking their own.
For Operator Connect, your customer's IT admin sees the certified operator, Telesmart, named in their Microsoft Teams admin centre. That is how Microsoft's programme works and applies to every Operator Connect provider.
For Direct Routing, nothing carries our name or anyone else's. Everything else — contract, billing, pricing, support and the portal you manage customers in — is yours in both cases.
No. For Direct Routing we supply and manage it. Operator Connect does not use one.
Yes. Microsoft Teams Phone licences come from Microsoft and are required whichever way calling is connected. We supply the calling; Microsoft supplies the phone system it plugs into.
Yes, on one wholesale relationship. This is a genuine advantage to pass on: Microsoft's own calling plans are bought per country and the minutes cannot be pooled across countries, so a customer operating on both sides of the Tasman cannot get one combined allowance from Microsoft.
No. In our wholesale and reseller model you hold the customer relationship, the billing and tier 1 support, and we stay out of it.
No minimum volume, no exclusivity, and no joining fee.
You hold the relationship with your customer and their first line of support.
When something needs us, you escalate it to us directly and we work it with you — we never contact your customer, before, during or after.
The response times and escalation detail are set out in your partner agreement rather than here, so they stay current as the service grows.
Select us as your operator in your Microsoft Teams admin centre — the tile reads Telesmart, our group company — then continue your setup using the button on this page. If you would rather talk to someone first, call us or send an enquiry and we will take you through it.
